CLIENT OVERVIEW

The Nairobi Hospital (TNH) engaged in a consultancy partnership with Opticom Kenya Limited in 2021 to mitigate losses and enhance security measures across their premises. Leveraging Opticom’s extensive expertise garnered from 25 years of experience within the UK’s National Health Service(NHS), the collaboration aimed to revamp security protocols, implement system integrations, conduct security risk assessments, and facilitate comprehensive safety and security training programs.


IMPACT & RECOGNITION CHALLENGES FACED


TNH sought strategies to curtail losses and theft, prompting an in-depth security assessment encompassing the main hospital and its satellite outpatient centers (OPCs). Opticom’s approach involved a meticulous analysis and recommendations to fortify security frameworks and instigate transformative changes in security management.


PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Security Risk Assessment: A comprehensive site survey employing a security in-depth approach was conducted across the main hospital and its satellite
    outpatient centers.
  2. System Integration & Control Room Establishment: Centralizing vendors and constructing a control room served as a pivotal step toward fortifying security
    measures.
  3. Project Execution at The UN TNH Covid Wing: Opticom Kenya Limited secured a contract to equip the UN TNH Covid Wing with electronic security solutions, including 156 CCTV cameras, 20 access control doors, and a dedicated control room with 4 monitors. The project was delivered within the designated timeframe and budget, showcasing exceptional dedication with round-the-clock support.

3. General Maintenance:

  • Ongoing maintenance across the entire Nairobi Hospital, including the main hospital, outpatient centers, and the East Wing.
    The project’s successful execution (UN TNH Covid Wing) garnered recognition from esteemed dignitaries & members of the diplomatic corps both locally
    & internationally. The official opening was graced by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta (during his tenure) and the Head of the United Nations Office
    Nairobi Director General Zainab Bangura, acknowledging the substantial enhancement in security measures.

VALUE ADDITIONS & ONGOING
SERVICES:

In addition to the core projects, Opticom provided
training programs for control room operators, focusing on behavioral-analytical monitoring in mission critical spaces like hospitals. Ongoing service and maintenance of electronic security systems further fortified the security infrastructure at TNH.
