Lone Worker

A lone worker is an employee who performs a task that is carried out remotely from other employees without close or immediate supervision. This kind of staff members may be exposed to risk because there is no-one to support them. When an emergency happens in the workplace, a lone worker system can get workers in distress the help they need. The systems can provide safety and reassurance for any workplace setting or occupation.

The lone worker devices provided by Opticom are worn by the lone worker and they generate alerts during an emergency situation. The worker is only required to press a button which raises an alert to the Alarm Receiving Centre and a qualified operator assesses the situation. The operator can hear what is going on via an audio connection, so if it is not safe to speak or communicate, the operator can still understand what’s going on.
