Fire Fighting Equipment
Firefighting equipment is equipment designed to extinguish fires or protect the user from fire. It may be used by trained fire fighters and trained users at the scene of a fire. Fire-fighting equipment includes fire extinguishers, water-based solutions (hose-reels, deluge and hydrants).
Fire extinguishers are active fire protection devices used to snuff out small fires in emergency situations. The various types of fire extinguisher put out fires started with different types of fuel; these are called ‘classes’ of fire. The fire risk from the different classes of fire in your business premises will determine which fire extinguisher types you need.
At Opticom, we first comprehensively assess you home or business to ensure that we provide what will be most effective for our clients. For Extinguishers, service and maintenance is key. We work with our clients to develop an effective service and maintenance plan.
Typical water-based firefighting systems are Deluge Systems, dry pipe and wet pipe fire Sprinkler Systems, or Preaction Systems, hybrids of deluge and sprinkler systems.
Besides the above-mentioned fixed systems, other water-based extinguishing systems are water branch pipes and hydraulic nozzles with adjustable spray pattern, both to be installed on monitors, or else hand operated water branch pipes, in different models and capacities, to connect to fire hydrants by means of flexible sleeves, for a more capillary action and close to minor spills.
Opticom installs the entire range of water-based fire-fighting equipment and systems with different grades of water atomization, depending on the types of system described here above.
